The Gospel of Jesus was a mystery to the Old Testament Jews.<\/p>\n<p>Jesus came from heaven to save us. God\u2019s salvation planned includes non-Jews and this salvation is available as a gift received by faith in Jesus Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Romans 16: 25, 26 <em>&#8211;<\/em><strong><em><sup>\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>Now to him who is able\u00a0to establish you in accordance with my gospel,\u00a0the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery\u00a0hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings\u00a0by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from<\/em><em><sup> \u00a0<\/sup><\/em><em>faith<\/em><u>. (NIV)<\/u><\/p>\n<p>The sacraments further celebrate the mystery and symbolize faith and obedience to Christ by His Body, the Church.<\/p>\n<p>Ephesians 3: 3-13 &#8211; <em>This mystery is that through the gospel the Gentiles are heirs\u00a0together with Israel, members together of <strong>one body<\/strong>,\u00a0and sharers together in <u>the promise in Christ Jesus<\/u>\u2026<u>through the church<\/u>, the manifold wisdom of God\u00a0should be made known\u00a0to the rulers and authorities\u00a0in the heavenly realms\u2026his eternal purpose\u00a0that he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.<strong><sup>\u00a0<\/sup>In him and through faith in him we may approach God\u00a0with freedom and confidence<\/strong><\/em><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The gospel (good news): Gentiles are heirs with Jews<\/li>\n<li>The Body of Christ made possible in Christ<\/li>\n<li>The Church reveals this mystery<\/li>\n<li>Rulers &amp; authorities in heavenly realms** (are amazed and watch God at work in and through the church)<\/li>\n<li>The eternal purpose: approach God with freedom &amp; confidence<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Col 1:24-27<strong>&#8211; <em><sup>24\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>I now rejoice in my sufferings\u00a0for you, and fill up in my flesh\u00a0what is lacking in the afflictions of Christ, for\u00a0the sake of His body, which is the church,\u00a0<strong><sup>25\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>of which I became a minister according to\u00a0the\u00a0stewardship from God which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of God,\u00a0<strong><sup>26\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>the\u00a0mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations,\u00a0but now has been revealed to His saints.\u00a0<strong><sup>27\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>To them God willed to make known what the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles are:\u00a0which is\u00a0Christ in you,\u00a0the hope of glory.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Some church traditions also refer to marriage, child dedication, Tithes and offering, observing the Lord\u2019s Day as ordinances. Two ordinances that are usually referenced are believer\u2019s baptism and holy communion.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_301\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-301\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-301 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"Baptism at the Bow River 2020\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005-1536x1023.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005-600x400.jpg 600w, https:\/\/ymministries.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/09\/IMG-20200830-WA0005.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-301\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">YM Baptism<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>We believe that <u>Baptism \u201cis an act of obedience<\/u> symbolizing the believer\u2019s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer\u2019s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus\u201d .<\/p>\n<p>Mt. 28:19 &#8211; \u201c<em>make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit<\/em>\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Acts 2: 37-41 <strong><em><sup>37\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, \u201cBrothers, what shall we do?\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><sup>38\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>Peter replied, \u201cRepent and be baptized,\u00a0every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.\u00a0And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.\u00a0<strong><sup>39\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>The promise is for you and your children\u00a0and for all who are far off\u2014for all whom the Lord our God will call.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em><sup>40\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, \u201cSave yourselves from this corrupt generation.\u201d\u00a0<strong><sup>41\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong>Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number\u00a0that day.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We also believe that the Holy Communion is an act of remembrance and a celebration of this mystery revealed in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>Mt. 26:26-28 &#8211; <strong><em><sup>26\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>And as they were eating,\u00a0Jesus took bread,\u00a0blessed and broke\u00a0it,\u00a0and gave\u00a0it\u00a0to the disciples and said,\u00a0<\/em><em>\u201cTake, eat;<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>this is My body<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><em><sup>27\u00a0<\/sup><\/em><\/strong><em>Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave\u00a0it\u00a0to them, saying,\u00a0<\/em><em>\u201cDrink from it, all of you.<\/em><em>\u00a0<strong><sup>28\u00a0<\/sup><\/strong><\/em><em>For<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>this is My blood<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>of the<\/em><em>\u00a0<sup>[<\/sup><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biblegateway.com\/passage\/?search=mt+26%3A26-28&amp;version=NKJV#fen-NKJV-24083b\"><em><sup>b<\/sup><\/em><\/a><em><sup>]<\/sup><\/em><em>new covenant, which is shed<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>for many for the<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><em>remission of sins<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><u>Summary<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Christ invites us\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Baptism \u2013 an individual declaration of Christ, an invitation into the Body of Christ<\/li>\n<li>The Lord\u2019s Supper \u2013 a community declaration of Christ, a re-alignment into the Body of Christ and a renewal of the purpose of God through the Church<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Christ is revealed through\u2026<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Our death to self, suffering and denial of self<\/li>\n<li>Our resurrected life, its authority and power and hope<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have more questions about participating in this sacraments, please let us know.<\/p>\n<p>God bless you!<\/p>\n<p>David<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A sacrament is an outward and visible sign of an inward and invisible grace.
